The design for the RiverTalk mobile phone application joins quantitative, hard data from existing stream monitor networks managed by the USGS Minnesota Water Center with qualitative, soft data provided by the new Park users. With wildlife ‘tagging’, a report & protect feature, and a streamlined social media interface, the RiverTalk app crowd sources the Riverfirst conservation efforts in Minneapolis and has attracted world class institutional and corporate partners to the RIVERFIRST Park initiative.
